Flu vs Coronavirus figures

Haven’t you heard? The flu ceased to exist last year! 😂
Oh shit that’s right, my bad guys
I have a coworker that wears a mask and swears it kept him from getting the cold or flu last year. Im sure it helps but likely because it lessens the chance that he touches his mouth or rubs his nose with his hands. The issue is that the mask is given too much credit. These days people are more likely to wash their hands before eating or after the bathroom or from returning from linch, etc. Also people are staying home if they are sick and not being so blazay about coming to work sick.
Yes, I think the people staying home and not spreading their germs was of huge benefit! It is appalling how many people would go out knowingly sick before 2020 and think it was funny or cute to get others sick.
That’s how life works
Well no shit, Sherlock 🤣
I'm not sure we could get accurate numbers because we don't massively do mandatory and compulsive testing - though my guess is that the number would be exactly the same
Yeah that’s guess too, would be a useful fact when trying to convert someone who isn’t thinking for themselves
I can’t wait until next year when we can compare the Covid cases this year with the common cold cases of the past and see how similar they may be. Unless there’s already a parallel now I’m actually about to go and look
Edit: I can’t really find anything related. Idk if it’s google, my wording for the searches or what but I did find this interesting
So I’m supposed to believe Covid measures dropped the flu waaaaay down while Covid just went rampant????
No they just stopped testing for the flu.
You'd have to do the split between pre-existing and non too
